    1. Learn how to assess, diagnose, and manage common rashes in primary care,
    2. Identify and address rare or unusual rashes in primary care.

    Dr. Jennifer Tran is a double board-certified dermatologist with knowledge in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Tran completed her undergraduate training in Health Sciences at McMaster University. She then completed her medical degree and subsequently her dermatology residency at the University of Toronto, where she served as chief resident during her final year of training. She is a Clinical Associate at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and an appointed Lecturer at the University of Toronto.

    Approach to Acne and Psoriasis in the Primary Care Setting

    1. Learn a basic approach to managing acne and psoriasis in the primary care setting.
    2. Understand the use of isotretinoin for treating acne in primary care, including how to prescribe it

    Dr. Lipson is a fellow of the Royal College of physicans and surgeons of Canada, the American Academy of dermatology and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. Dr. Lipson holds an Hon. BSc From Queen’s University, MD from the University of Ottawa where she also completed her Dermatology training. Dr. Jennifer Lipson is a medical dermatologist in Ottawa practising at West Ottawa Specialty Care. She is a lecturer at the University of Ottawa, an associate physician at The Ottawa Hospital and a consulting physician at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). She serves as a committee member for the Ottawa Dermatology Clinical and Scientific Biannual Meeting and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Subspecialty Committee for Dermatology. She is on the medical advisory committee for the Acne and Rosacea Society of Canada. Her clinical interests include immune mediated inflammatory diseases, acne and women’s health in dermatology

    Dr. Anatoli Freiman is a Toronto dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He is an author and medical educator with over 150 publications in dermatology and is a frequent lecturer at national and international medical conferences. Dr. Freiman is the Medical Director of the Toronto Dermatology Centre, a comprehensive dermatology practice in midtown Toronto.

    Detecting Basal Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Melanoma in Primary Care

    1. Learn how to recognize basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma in primary care.
    2. Gain knowledge of the current guidelines and best practices for the management and referral of patients presenting with suspected basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma in primary care.

    Dr. Ben Kim is is a certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist at Sage Dermatology in Toronto, Canada. He completed his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from McMaster University and his dermatology residency at the University of Ottawa where he was a chief resident. Dr. Kim has published over 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at major conferences. He is also a member of the Canadian Dermatology Association, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Kim provides evidence-based treatments tailored to each patient and prioritizes honest, effective, and meaningful care. Outside of work, he enjoys working out and spending time with his two cats, Beanie and Eggie.

    Ped Derm Primer: Approach to Diagnosis and Management of Common Childhood Skin Disorders

    Objectives:
    1. Gain knowledge on common pediatric skin conditions, including atopic dermatitis, infantile hemangiomas, and birthmarks.
    2. Gain insight into clinical pearls and practical strategies for accurate diagnosis and management in primary care.

    Dr Levy is a staff physician in the Division of Dermatology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, and an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Toronto. She also runs a weekly Pediatric Dermatology clinic at the Scarborough Health Network Centenary Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Her clinical and research interests include skin toxicities of targeted anti-cancer therapies, late cutaneous effects post-hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and hidradenitis suppurativa in the pediatric population. She is active in education at all levels, acting as co-Director of the biennial Pediatric Dermatology Update conference, and is the fellowship director for the clinical pediatric dermatology fellowship at SickKids.
